Joseph read music at Clare College Cambridge, studying composition with Tarik O’Regan and Robin Holloway, and completed an MMUS in composition at the Royal Academy of Music, studying with Paul Patterson and taking lessons with Sir Peter Maxwell Davies. He has had works performed by many professional ensembles including the Britten Sinfonia, the London Sinfonietta, members of the BBC Symphony Orchestra and the BBC Singers,  The Solstice Quartet and the Leibniz Trio. His musical, Superhero, written with Richy Hughes and Michael Conley premiered at Southwark Playhouse in Summer 2017, and was awarded Best New Musical at the OffWestEnd.com awards (offies) that year.
